Conversations With MillionairesAuthor: Mike Litman and Jason Oman
Publisher: CWM
ISBN: 1-931866-007
Conversations with Millionaires is a highly readable, highly entertaining book built on nine transcribed interviews from Mike Litman’s Long Island radio show.
The nine interviewees are all high achievers in their chosen fields. Unsurprisingly they are all Americans, but the principles on which their success is based are universal.
What does come across is the passion of Litman’s questioning which has elicited equally passionate responses from his guests. The result is a book which is peppered with business-building insights, ideas and strategies.
Many of the stories share the “rags to riches” theme and all demonstrate that it can be done. It has to start with a compelling dream, followed by the creation of action steps to make it happen.
One example quote from Guerrilla Marketing author Jay Conrad Levinson epitomises the nuggets of business wisdom contained in Conversations: “Don’t look around for businesses that are competitors that you can obliterate, instead look around for other businesses that have the same kind of standard that you do and look for companies with which you can cooperate.”
In the Mark Victor Hansen interview, Hansen credits two quotes to Think and Grow Rich author Napoleon Hill – Firstly, you have to have a definite major purpose, a goal bigger than you that is going to make a difference and leave a legacy. Secondly, you have to have a team together, a master-mind alliance.
Conversations with Millionaires is the type of easy read which will appeal to those who like to glean “success” principles directly from source.
